Kevin Kanarek has been creating online tools for businesses, educational organizations and media projects since the 1990s. He holds a Bachelors degree in English and French from the State University of New York Albany, and a Masters from NYU in Interactive Telecommunications.
Kevin has been working with businesses and independent professionals, helping them build their presence on the web and engage with their audiences through search optimization, social media, and online tools.
He worked with several media projects and documentary film makers in the San Francisco Bay Area to raise awareness of their work and of sustainability issues through online media. He also served in a search & recruiting capacity for internet companies including OpenTable, GraceNote, and Nielson / Telephia.
Earlier in his career, he worked as a translator / technical trainer for the OECD in Paris; a teacher / teacher trainer in New York, serving both public and private schools K through 12; and as an education technology consultant for the Bertelsmann Foundation, working with teachers and their classes to promote media literacy and critical thinking through project-based learning. He also did freelance production work and technical consulting for such clients as Scholastic, Time Warner, and the American Museum of Natural History.
